Experiences
The mountain begins at your doorstep.
At 1,800 m, in Toubkal National Park, everything follows the rhythm of the valley. You walk, you climb, you meet people — then you come home for a mint tea. Each outing is planned the evening before, over dinner, according to the weather and the mood.

Mountainside walks straight from the doorstep, led by guides born in the valley. Walnut orchards, the waterfalls of Imlil, passes and shepherds’ huts : you set out for half a day or a full one, with a picnic prepared at the house. The pace adapts to everyone.

North Africa’s highest summit is climbed right from the house. Two days : the climb up to the refuge, a night under the stars, then the pre-dawn start to reach the summit at 4,167 m. A high-mountain guide, a mule for the luggage, and the return to Douar Samra for the hammam.

Discover the hamlets of Imlil and Aroumd, their rammed-earth lanes, their cooperatives and their markets. You visit an oil mill, share a tea in a local home, follow the flow of water between the cultivated terraces. The Atlas as it is truly lived, far from the main roads.

Coming back from a walk has its ritual : the traditional wood-fired hammam, black soap and the scrubbing glove, then a massage with argan oil. After that, you do nothing at all — a mint tea on the terrace, a book in the shade of the walnut trees, the sound of running water. The mountain is also knowing how to stop.
